Day 1 Visit Panda Base and Sanxingdui Ruins
In the morning, at 07:30am, the driver and the guide pick up you from the hotel and drive you to the Panda Baseto see cute pandas. The Giant Panda has its habitat exclusively in China. It is known worldwide as a rare treasure, a symbol of auspiciousness and friendship and a messenger of peace. the Chengdu Panda Base has not only dedicated itself to giant panda conservation, but has also made great efforts to combine natural scenery and man-made landscapes to create wonderful and humane living areas for giant pandas, red pandas, and other Chinese endangered animals. You spend almost half day at the base and leave at 11:30am normally. And the driver drives you to Sanxingdui Ruins.
Sanxingdui Ruins, is the ruins of the Bronze Age in the middle and late Shang Dynasty. The name was entailed for that its appearance resembles three earth pits. The excavation began in 1980. Two large sacrificial pits of the Sanxingdui were unearthed in 1986, becoming instant stirring news in the whole world. More than a thousand pieces of priceless treasures were dug out, including bronze wares, jade wares, ivories, shells, earthen wares, gold wares, etc. The bronze wares include vessels, weapons, large standing human figures, head portraits, animal figures, and masks etc. You will be shocked by the amazing and mystic culture originated 4,500 years.
In the evening, you can choose to watch the Sichuan Opera which begins at 20:00pm and end at 21:30pm. You can drink the chinese tea while enjoy the splendid traditional performances. One of the highlights is face changing, the unique skills in the opera which may bring your exclamation of surprise. It can only be booked in advance to keep the seats for you. And the admission charge is 150rmbper person.
