Day 1 Visit Wenshu Monastery and Qingyang Palace
In the morning, at
08:00am, the driver and the guide pick up you from the hotel and drive you to the
Wenshu Monastery, a monastery which dates back to the Tang dynasty, is Chengdu's largest and best-preserved Buddhist temple. Originally known as Xinxiang Temple, it was renamed after a Buddhist monk who lived there in the late 17
th century. The most completed Buddhist temple in Chengdu city. After lunch, drive to visit
Qingyang Palace.
Qingyang Palace, a famed Taoist temple in China, is in the beautiful and cultural relic laden city Chengdu. It is in the west of the city on the bank of the Jinjiang River. The temple has been restored repeatedly in the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911), but retaining almost all its original scale and style. Drive you back to the hotel in the late afternoon.
In the evening, you can choose to watch the Sichuan Opera which begins at 20:00pm and end at 21:30pm. You can drink the chinese tea while enjoy the splendid traditional performances. One of the highlights is face changing, the unique skills in the opera which may bring your exclamation of surprise. It can only be booked in advance to keep the seats for you. And the admission charge is 150rmb per person.
