Kagyu sect, with 3 stupas, colse to the Samdo township, built in 1144.

Gonggaling (Kungaling or Gongling) monastery
Close Chitu Twonship, Gongga Langji Ling monastery, 62km to county seat, alt 3335M, Geluk sect of Tibetan Buddism, contains an exquisite copper image of the bodhisattva Maitreya (the Future Buddha), which was originally presented by Dalai Lama V. The walls ceilings and pillars are finely decorated.

Xiongdeng Monastery (Yangteng Gompa or Xiongden Lamasery)
During 14 monasteries in Daocheng, Yangteng Gompa is the important monastery, alt 4105M, loacated in Rubu village about 10km to county seat, built in Ming Dynasty (1415), and re-construction in 1983, houses tens of thousands of Buddhist scriptures, as well as many Duddha figures, including a sandalwood statue of Sakyamuni.

A monastery protected well, and famous for its murals and constriction.

Chonggu Monastery
Lies at the foot of Holy Peak Xiannairi, alt 3880M, built in Yuan Dynasty, a branch temple  of Gonggaling monastery. Now this monastery is the best camp base for trekking around the holy peak. Also is the best place to view the Holy Peak Xiannairi.

Other Monasteries
Zhujie (Zoiji) Monastery at the south of Sumdo twonship, and 18km to county seat. Rewu monastery lies at the south of the Jinzhu township. Quling Monastery lies close to Julong township..
