Upper Season Lake and Lower season Lake of jiuzhaigou
Author: panda tour  Source: panda tour

Jiuzhaigou is in good ecologyUpper Season Lake is situated in a lush and luxuriant locality, while Lower Season Lake is adjoining Multi-color Lake. The volume of the two lakes varies greatly, sometimes overflowing, and sometimes dried up. In rainy autumns the water rises and is bright blue, then changes to glossy green in summertime. During winter, the lakes run dry, and many different grasses grow in the lake beds, making an excellent natural pasture, covering an area of about 2 million square meters. It is the largest and highest lake in Jiuzhaigou.

Opposite the lake, there are snow-capped mountains (elevation 4,000-5,000 meters) with typical glacier landscapes of cirques and U-shaped valleys.
