Jiuzhaigou is located in Nanping County of upper reaches of the Minjiang River. Its name Nine-village Ravine is supposed to be because Tibetans once lived here. Jiuzhaigou is a state protected scenic site and classified as the heritage of the natural scenery in the world by UNESCO. It is celebrated for unique virgin quietness and mystery under heaven. The sparkling snow-covered peaks and dark green forests remind people of the remote North-European scenery. There are over 100 plateau lakes, waterfalls and streams are magnificent, elegant, serene, extremely fascinating. Because of clear water and glittering stones at the bottom of the lakes, Spark Lake, Multi-colored Pool etc. refract sunlight so as to engender the dreamlike splendors. The visitors coming here doubt whether they have been into a fairyland. Pearl Beach is clear and smooth. On it numerous pellets of silvery beads twinkle. Nuorilang Fall, above 100 meters in breadth, is gushing over the edge of the black precipice of about 30 meters in height. At present, as the transportation become convenient, tourists can arrive there in 10 hours.
