Jiaju Tibetan village tops the list of the most beautiful village in China; Gongga Snow-mountain is on the list of the most beautiful mountain in China; Hailuogou glacier is granted the title of the most beautiful glacier in China; and the grassland in middle Ganzi is considered to be the most beautiful grassland in China.

Located on the South-eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the first established prefecture of this kind after China's liberation, covers an area of 153,000 square kilometers, with average altitude of 3,500 meters above sea leavel. The capital city is Kangding, 326 kilometers away from Chengdu.

Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture claims to be the prime tourism destination for its well-preserved ecosystem and brilliant cultural heritage. The Gongga Mountain, Hailuogou Glacier and the Holy Mountain in Daocheng County built up the Shangri-la ecological tourism zone, while Tibetan culture is manifested in such scenic spots as the Ancient Road of Tea and Horse Trade, Dege Scripture Printing Academy and Hometown of King Gesar.

The majestic Gongga Mountain is the highest and most famous of Sichuan's  Mountains. Gongga Mountain is the eleventh highest mountain in the world at 7556 meters asl. Its range boasts 45 peaks over 6000 meters, 71 glaciers, 4880 different plant varieties and 400 species of wildlife. This area is therefore known as the storehouse of living organisms. Gongga Mountain is a paradise for mountaineer and geologists.

Danba was called Zhanggu in Tibetan which means town on a rock. Danba County in China is the first county that the Daduhe River flows into. Thousands of towers were built by the Jarong Tibetan people in the valleys around the river. Many of these towers and other ancient ruins can still be seen today. The people liveing here still keep to their traditonal customs and architecture in a unique way. The picturesque Maoniugou Valley, the sacred Moerduo Mountain and Dangling Mountain are other highlights of this scenic area. "The valley of beautiful girls" is also not to be missed.

Hailuogou is the easternmost glacier in Asia and is situated at the lowest latitude. It is also only 2850 meters above sea level, near to 79 degrees Celsius hot springs and primeval forests.

The western Sichuan Prairie is take Litang Grassland as the core, covering an area of 70,000 square kilometers, the attitude is 3800-4500 meters. The Western Sichuan Prairie is a traditional pastoral area in China. This area abound in precious medicinal materials such as caterpillar grass and ginseng etc.

Ganzi Prefecture is the centre of the Kham Region - one of the three branches of Tibetan culture. The Tibetan culture mixed with the other minority who live in the surroundings. There are many exciting historical artefacts the visitors can still see, like hero King Gesar culture, Shangri-la, the Kangding Love Song, the gallery of Yi - Tibetan culture and history.
