Parks in Chengdu

Chengdu parks & gardens are one of the popular attractions of the city.

 These parks and gardens are not only renowned for their natural beauty, but then at the same time, they also provide a temporary escape to the hectic schedule of daily life. Some of the popular parks and gardens of Chengdu are Renmin Park, River Viewing Pavilion (Wangjianglou) Park and Wenhua Park. 
 

Renmin Park (People's Park)


Situated in Jinhe Lu, Renmin Park is a typical Chinese park, where you can relax and rest far away from the hectic schedule of daily life. Renmin Park constitutes of a bonsai garden, a children's funfair and a Monument to the Martyrs. All these sites are situated around a beautiful lake, where you can enjoy the facility of boating by hiring pedal boats. The best way to get a feel of the park is by strolling around the park and soaking in the serene and tranquil ambience of the park. You can also visit the teahouse of the Renmin Park, which the finest tea available in Chengdu and while sipping your cup of tea, you can also participate in some pleasant conversation with your near and dear ones.

River Viewing Pavilion (Wangjianglou)


River Viewing Pavilion (Wangjianglou) park in Chengdu is an important park of the city. The highlight of the park is its forests boasting of 100 varieties of bamboo. You will be enchanted as you walk beside the yellow columns of bamboo; you can also hear the exquisite sound when the green leaves sway with the wind. All the bamboo trees of the park overlook the calm and serene Jin River that was once considered to be the symbol of Chengdu.
 

Wenhua Park


Wenhua Park is one of the premier parks of the city that is extremely popular amongst the denizens as well as the tourists visiting the city. Wenhua Parks is a historically significant park. It is home to the biggest Taoist temple in Chengdu, the Green goat Temple. After renovation, this active temple has become extremely colorful boasting of a wide variety of brightly colored paintings and statues. The walls of the temple is embellished with sculptures of real as well as mythical animals and dragons and besides these, there is also a gigantic statue of two bronze goats, which symbolizes fortune.


The Flowing water garden


The Flowing water garden, Chengdu is the first urban ecological environmental garden of the world which is based on water. One might have visited many beautiful gardens but a visit to the Flowing water garden, Chengdu will be a unique experience as this is a floating garden. It is like a little island. The theme of the garden is natural ecology. The garden comprises of a central park wherein you will find rare species of trees bearing beautiful flowers. One can also enjoy the many fountains that are to be found in this garden. You can also see the natural ecological river dam that has been built here. One can check out the sculptures that depict the glorious past of the city of Chengdu in particular and China in general. There is a pool named "Yellow Dragon Color Pool" which has several water plants growing in it. The pool is also home to many different kinds of fishes.

Baihuatan Park


Huanhuaju in Huanhuaxi Baihuatan Park is located in the southern district of Chengdu, and Qingyanggong, Du Fu's house nearby, covering about 135 acres. Bonsai Park mainly so that the distribution of planting Sichuan prominent feature, which is especially renowned bonsai orchids.


Baihuatan formerly Chengdu Zoo, 1971 Zoo out urban site will be turned into a veritable Bohuatan Park.
