In the Jiajiang County of the city of Leshan, there is one ancient Shu famous monument ?C One Thousand Buddha Cliff . It is such named because it houses over 2000 masterpiece of stone Buddha carvings on the cliff. Most of the Buddha heads were dug out of the sculpture because it is the most valuable part of the whole Buddha. The statue show a few signs of wear and tear, considering their age, are in fairly good condition.

It takes about half an hour's driving from Leshan city. You can catch one of the many buses from Leshan's long-distance bus station down the bumpy road to Jiajiang (5RMB, 1 hour) and then take taxi (15RMB) or pedicab (10RMB) to the site.
