Because its isolated location, it is difficult for visitors to get to the spots for its isolation from the outside in previous years, however this is no longer a concern due to the construction of the Jiuzhaigou Ring Way which links the reserve with Chengdu and the Jiuhuang Airport, and has made gaining access to the park a great deal easier. Today most visitors transfer at Chengdu onto long-distance buses or flights going to Jiuzhaigou.
For those visitors who want to save time on travel there is the Jiuhuang Airport, located in Chuanzhusi Town. First opened in 2003, it takes just 40 minutes to fly between Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou. The scenic area of Jiuzhaigou is 42 kilometers from the county and 88 kilometers from the Jiuzhaigou airport and 128 kilometers from Huanglong scenic spots.
By long-distance bus
Although it takes a great deal longer to get to Jiuzhaigou by bus, it remains the most popular means of transport among visitors due to the reasonable price of tickets. It takes about 10 to 12 hours from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou by bus.
By Chartered Vehicle
This method of travel is often adopted by visitors who also want to get to the other destinations around Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Area.
If you would like to get closer to the charming scenery in the valley then walking provides the perfect opportunity to do so.
