Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China and home to a national giant panda breeding and research base, has started a global search for six volunteers to live with the giant pandas for one month.

The global Pambassador initiative was launched at the Chengdu Pavilion in the Urban Best Practices Area in the Expo site August 16th,2010.
Anyone who is passionate about wildlife protection can volunteer for a six-week role of "giant panda guardian" at www.pandahome.com. Applicants should upload a one-minute self-introductory video to the website or take part in an online game about panda care.
All their travel costs will be covered by the Chengdu Panda Base and the World Wildlife Fund.

They will assist panda researchers and scientists, study panda habits, take part in educational programs to raise public awareness for wildlife conservation. They will also have a very special chance to witness a panda giving birth to her cub, the organizers said.
