Located within the Subtropical Monsoon Climate Zone, the climate of Mt. Emei bears significant impacts from radiation, air circulation, and particularly from the contour and geographic features. The overall mountain range is characteristic of abundant cloud and mist, rich raindrop and less sunlight. The climate varies significantly with altitude upwards from subtropics, mild temperate, middle temperate, to sub-frigid. The temperature at the top is averagely 14 ˇăC less than that at the foot of the mountain.
